Started in September of 2019, this album was based around a set of basic constraints. To produce the music, CCDM only allowed himself to use the inbound sequencers and sounds of physical hardware. After producing music on the equipment, he would record single takes onto a DAW, and use minimally invasive editing for the final version.

The music of Between Pain & Elation is a trial of matching softer melodic and harmonic elements with harsh and noisy rhythms.
